“Writing on Cakes” Class Supply List
You can use any or all of the following to practice your writing on:
--Cardboard cake circles and rectangles. (You may want to try both). I suggest
putting a thin layer of buttercream icing on them or covering the top with rolled fondant.
--You may use cake dummies if you like. Have them iced in buttercream or rolled fondant
--If you don’t care about saving any of your work, you can use waxed paper, a piece of plastic or Plexiglas or a solid colored vinyl placemat. (If using a colored place mat, use white icing to practice with…if using a white placemat, color you icing so that you can see what you are doing.)
1 to 2 cups soft buttercream icing (thin consistency)
2 or 3 decorating bags

Fine artist brush
Small metal spatula
Small piece of rolled fondant (colored if you wish)
Small rolling pin (if you have a non-stick board for rolling out gum paste, bring that)
Alphabet cutters (you can use the individual letters or the long bars with the alphabet letters and numbers on them, or small cookie cutters)
